1. Our Design Philosophy

Qllipse is built to support theatre professionals and production teams throughout the entire production process — from planning and rehearsal to live performance workflows.

Qllipse helps teams organize scripts, cues, notes, responsibilities, and production information into one shared workspace. Its purpose is to reduce complexity, improve communication, and help teams prepare reliable productions.

The most reliable performances are created before the audience arrives.

Qllipse is designed to help production teams prepare, rehearse, coordinate, and refine their workflows. By bringing important information together, Qllipse helps teams identify issues earlier and improve collaboration between departments.

Qllipse may also be used as part of a live production workflow. However, live performances involve many technical and operational factors outside the control of any software system.

Qllipse is a tool that supports production teams. It does not replace professional judgment, rehearsal practices, technical preparation, or appropriate contingency planning.

No software system can eliminate all risks associated with live productions. Responsibility for the successful execution of a production remains with the production team.

2. Introduction

Welcome to Qllipse.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Qllipse application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.

Qllipse may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. Purpose of the Service

Qllipse is a digital production workflow and coordination tool designed for theatre teams and live production environments.

The Service helps users:

Create and manage digital prompt books
Organize scripts and cues
Add production notes, images, and references
Coordinate responsibilities between crew members
Manage rehearsal and production tasks
Support backstage and technical workflows

Qllipse is designed to improve preparation, communication, and coordination throughout the production lifecycle.

4. Professional Use & Suitability

Qllipse is intended for professional, educational, community, and independent productions.

Every production has different requirements, technical environments, and operational risks. Users are responsible for determining whether Qllipse is suitable for their specific production.

Qllipse provides the greatest benefit during:

Rehearsals
Technical rehearsals
Production planning
Cue preparation
Crew coordination
Workflow testing

These phases allow teams to review, test, and improve their processes before a public performance.

While Qllipse may support live performance workflows, it is not designed to be the sole system responsible for ensuring the successful execution of a live event.

Productions remain responsible for appropriate preparation, testing, and contingency planning.

Qllipse is not designed as a safety-critical, emergency, or mission-critical system where failure could directly create safety risks or unavoidable financial losses.

5. User Accounts & Eligibility

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required by applicable law in your country, to create an account and use the Service.

Account Security

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your account credentials
Keeping account information accurate and up to date
All activity performed through your account

6. User Responsibilities

By using Qllipse, you agree that you are responsible for:

Maintaining accurate production information
Reviewing scripts, cues, notes, and instructions before use
Rehearsing and verifying your production workflow
Ensuring devices are compatible and operational
Maintaining appropriate backup procedures
Testing the Service in the intended production environment
Ensuring team members understand their responsibilities

When Qllipse is used as part of a live production workflow, users and production teams are responsible for ensuring that:

The workflow has been sufficiently tested before the event
Team members understand how the system is intended to be used
Appropriate backup methods are available
Alternative access to critical production information exists where necessary
Recovery procedures have been considered

Qllipse provides tools to support production workflows. It does not verify that user-created content, cues, instructions, or production decisions are correct.

7. Live Production Use

Qllipse may be used during live performances, presentations, broadcasts, and other time-sensitive production environments.

However, live events involve risks and dependencies outside the control of Qllipse, including:

Hardware failures
Device issues
Battery or power failures
Operating system changes
Network conditions
Venue-specific technical environments
User error
Incorrect production information
Third-party services or integrations

The decision to use Qllipse during a live performance is made by the user and production team.

Productions using Qllipse in live environments are responsible for evaluating their own operational requirements and maintaining appropriate backup procedures.

Any use of Qllipse during live performances where financial, contractual, or reputational consequences may occur is undertaken at the user's and production's own responsibility.

Qllipse is designed to help productions prepare for successful performances. It does not guarantee uninterrupted operation during live events and cannot guarantee that a production will be completed without interruption.

8. Backup and Contingency Responsibility

Qllipse includes features intended to support reliability, including synchronization, exports, and offline functionality.

These features are provided as tools to assist users. They do not constitute a guarantee against:

Data loss
Service interruption
Device failure
Production disruption

Users are responsible for maintaining backup procedures appropriate to the importance, scale, and operational requirements of their production.

Recommended backup methods include:

Exported scripts and cue information
Printed backup materials where appropriate
Secondary devices
Local backups
Cloud backups
Tested recovery procedures

Professional productions commonly maintain contingency plans for critical systems. Qllipse recommends that users apply the same principle when incorporating digital tools into their workflow.

9. Third-Party Services & Availability

The Service depends on third-party technology, including:

Operating systems
Hardware devices
Internet connectivity
Cloud infrastructure
Application distribution platforms
External integrations

Qllipse may be affected by changes or failures in third-party services, including operating system updates, hardware limitations, network failures, or infrastructure changes.

Qllipse is not responsible for failures caused by third-party products, services, infrastructure, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or other circumstances.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Qllipse and its developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Service.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Lost ticket revenue
Loss of income
Loss of expected profits
Cancelled performances
Refund obligations
Interrupted performances
Missed cues
Production delays
Business interruption
Loss of reputation
Loss or corruption of data
Recovery costs
Additional production expenses
Costs related to replacement systems or emergency procedures

This limitation applies regardless of whether the Service is used during:

Planning
Preparation
Rehearsals
Technical rehearsals
Performances
Broadcasts
Other production activities

Qllipse shall not be responsible for financial losses resulting from a production's decision to rely on the Service during a live event without appropriate testing, preparation, and backup procedures.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Qllipse's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by the user to Qllipse during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

11. Warranty Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

While Qllipse aims to provide a reliable production workflow tool, Qllipse does not guarantee:

Continuous availability
Error-free operation
Failure-free operation in all circumstances
Compatibility with every device, operating system, or environment
That the Service will prevent all production issues
That the Service will meet every production's individual requirements

Production reliability depends on many factors, including preparation, testing, hardware, venue conditions, technical systems, and human processes.

Qllipse does not guarantee that use of the Service will prevent production errors, interruptions, or performance issues.

12. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights relating to the Service, including software, branding, design, and related materials, remain the property of Qllipse or its licensors.

Users retain ownership of content they create using the Service.

By using Qllipse, users grant Qllipse only those rights necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

13. Termination & Governing Law

Users may stop using the Service at any time.

Qllipse reserves the right to suspend or terminate access where these Terms are violated.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Finland.
